I had the honor to photograph baby Jaylene this weekend. My beautiful niece! I was so excited to photograph her. She smiled with me and I'd like to think that she really fell in love with me. The truth is, she is just such a happy baby. I am so proud of you Erika and I know your mom would be too. She is so beautiful and you are such a caring and patient mommy. What a blessing and no surprise! Check out some of her photos here.

Everybody knows I LOVE soccer. It's my other love. lol Well I seem to think so. I have been coaching for several years and been helping coach my son's team for over 5 seasons. It's amazing how much these boys have grown developmentally and physically. They are so much fun to be around and really absorb everything we are teaching them. I wanted to share some photos of when I'm not behind the camera...well I still tend to take the camera to the field... I just can't help it!

I had the great fortune to go to WPPI again this year. If you don't know what that is, it's a conference for Wedding and Portrait Professionals. It's pretty much a great place to learn and network, and party, it is Vegas ya know!

Last year I went for the very first time, I was so overwhelmed and I felt like I was going to walk in and everyone was going to point and look, laugh and say "Hey! You don't belong here! This is for the PROFESSIONALS!" OMG! I totally felt out of place. Luckily it was a great year to get my feet.

This year I went in, struttin' my stuff, "like I got this!" lol. Well no not really. I mean we are talking about over 15,000 photographers converging into one place. Pretty intimidating. Once I got to the classes I wanted and people asked similar questions to what I was thinking. I felt like ok, we are all in this together and we just want to get better to be better. I went open minded and ready to absorb everything. The little overachiever I am. I sat in the first 2 rows of my classes. I just came back really inspired, I learned so much. Next year I plan to go to network, and break out of my comfort zone and hit all the parties everyone talks about... ok well that is the plan.. and if you know me, that probably is pretty unlikely, but ya never know.

I wanted to share some pictures we toook of our road trip. This year me and my partner in crime celebrated our 12th year wedding anniversary and we took advantage to blend our business trip with some pleasure. lol

Listening to Jason Mraz on the drive up there was very soothing... eventually I turned into one of my children and was like "Are we there yet?!"

Finally made it...

We were able to sneak out at night and try out our night time shots... yes that is a man painted in silver paint standing like a statue... hehehe

I was over the moon when I got to see one of my favorite wedding photographers. Jasmine Star is so awesome and she knows it too! She gives of herself so much and people just love her. Like me.

Finally some party time and our annual mirror shot.

Just completed editing a special birthday portrait session. I was asked to do a family photo shoot for a special birthday. A Quinceanera! It's like a hispanic version of a "Sweet 16". In the hispanic community it's a huge deal! We go all out, almost like a mini wedding with a full party and everything. Some people go a tad bit crazy and spend almost as much as wedding would cost. It's considered a big deal. This family was so happy to get family photos done. It was a gift for their daughter to get her portraits done. Her pink dress was so cute, with ruffles and tiny rhinestones on the top. Perfect for the occasion. Here are some snap shots of her session.

What a great way to start the year than with a family photo shoot. This little boy was so much fun! They wanted to race up and down the little hills. So cute!
